SKOPJE, Jan 15 (Hina) - Delegations of the successor states to the
Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were meeting in the Macedonian
capital Skopje on Monday to determine a schedule for the handover of diplomatic
buildings and reach agreement on the sale of some of the embassies.
The Croatian delegation was headed by Mirjam Katulic from the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The first agreement on the division of diplomatic assets of the now
defunct state was reached in 2001, when five out of 123 diplomatic buildings
were divided among the successors. The division of a further 44 buildings was
agreed at a meeting in Zagreb at the end of last year.
Under those agreements, Croatia was awarded embassy buildings in
Vienna, The Hague, Toronto, Oslo and Stockholm, two apartments in Trieste, and
some other assets.
