The monthly costs of a family living in a rented apartment in December amounted to 7,202 kuna, up 53 kuna or 0.74 from September. The average salary covered only 60.8 percent of the living costs of a family living in a rented apartment.
If a family owns a car, they spend another 892 kuna a month at least.
The costs of living were the highest in Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Lika-Senj, and Istria counties (6,019 kuna), and the lowest in Osijek-Baranja, Brod-Posavina, Virovitica-Podravina, Vukovar-Srijem, and Pozega-Slavonia counties (5,481 kuna).
