In July alone, 6,066 people got seasonal jobs, making up 36.6 percent of a total of 16,587 newly-employed workers in that month.
In the first seven months, 26,459 people were seasonally employed, or 28.8 percent of a total of 91,951 newly employed people in the said period.
The number of seasonal workers thus climbed by 17.5 percent in the January-July period of 2010 as compared to the same period in 2009.
A half of seasonal workers (52.8) percent were employed in hotels and restaurants.
A total of 11.2 percent of seasonal workers were registered in the retail sector, and agriculture accounted for 7.5 percent.
Under a bilateral agreement between Croatia and Germany, a total of 4,158 Croatians are seasonally employed in agriculture and in hotels and restaurants in Germany.
