"Serbia and Croatia have agreed to improve relations despite open issues left over from the Yugoslavia bloody breakup," the Associated Press reported.
"Serbia's Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and Croatia's Ivo Sanader say it is time to move forward," the AP said.
The German dpa news agency said that Croatian PM Sanader visited Belgrade "in a bid to thaw relations which Serbia froze over Zagreb's recognition of Kosovo."
"Sanader and Serbian Premier Mirko Cvetkovic acknowledged the problems burdening bilateral ties since the conflict last decade and even before, but said they were willing to work for better relations," dpa said.
Sanader was quoted by Reuters as pledging "Croatia's support to Serbia's bid to join the European Union despite a pending genocide suit against its former foe".
"As a future NATO member and as a country that is very close to EU membership, Croatia will give full support to its neighbours," Prime Minister Ivo Sanader was quoted by Reuters as saying.
The French AFP also underlined the two premiers' insistence on dialogue.
The Italian ANSA and the Austrian APA also carried reports on Sanader's third visit to Belgrade.
