Local driver killed, Croatian ambassador in Iran injured in car accident

ZAGREB, July 2 (Hina) - A driver of the Croatian Embassy to the Islamic Republic of Iran, who was a local staffer, was killed and three Croatian citizens, including Ambassador Esad Prohic, were injured in a traffic accident in the Iranian city of Hamadan on Thursday, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Friday.

All the injured men were admitted to hospital in Hamadan and they are now stable, the ministry said.

Apart from the ambassador, the other two injured Croatians are representatives of the companies Flammifer Ozalj and Item.

The Croatian ministry contacted the family of the killed driver and extended heartfelt condolences on his death.
