Vajgl was quoted by the web portal as saying that at the talks with the ambassador he had advocated the curbing of inflammatory rhetorics between politicians of the two countries, and that "constructive and calm talks" should replace such rhetorics.
Vajgl said that he had told the Croatian ambassador that things were now going on "according to their logical schedule" regarding the proposal by European Enlargement Commissioner for the resolution of the Slovenia-Croatian border dispute and the resumption of Croatia's EU membership talks, obstructed for months by Slovenia's vetoes on opening policy chapters (negotiating areas).
Croatia earlier accepted Rehn's latest proposal in its entirety, while Slovenia sent its amendments to the proposal two days ago.
Vajgl believes that there is no reason to accelerate the process concerning Rehn's attempts to find a solution satisfactory to both countries.
