The land consolidation is expected to be completed in 2021.
The project has been conducted with the financial assistance of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
Sweden donated HRK 1.65 million in the preparation phase, and granted an additional HRK 13.37 million later.
So far, HRK 10.4 million have been allocated from the Croatian state budget, and local units of self-government have earmarked an additional HRK 3.55 million for this purpose.
At the presentation of the project, Swedish Ambassador to Croatia, Fredrik Vahlquist, said that the land consolidation was necessary for improving competitiveness of Croatian farmers after their country's admission to the European Union.
The diplomat recalled that Sweden would take over the EU rotating presidency on 1 July and that it would spare no effort to facilitate Croatia's progress towards the Union's full membership.
