ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who arrived in Zagreb for an official visit,
on Friday agreed that a Slovenian-Croatian border dispute could be settled
only by the application of the international law, the Office of Preisdent Mesic
stated in a press release. Commenting on Slovenia's blockade of
Croatia's European Union accession negotiations, Mesic and Fico said that the
border dispute could be settled exclusively by the international law, and the
Slovak premier added that a bilateral issue should be separated from Croatia's
EU membership talks.
Fico informed Mesic that with its entry into the European bloc and the
introduction of the euro, Slovakia had made steady progress and stabilised its
economy.
The Croatian head of state thanked him for Slovak support to Croatia's
efforts to join EU.
Fico said that Croatia is one of the most popular destinations for
Slovak tourists.
