ZAGREB, June 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry's State Secretary for political issues, Bianca Matkovic, on Tuesday received the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, for talks on bilateral relations and on potentials for improving economic cooperation, the Croatian ministry said in a statement.
ZAGREB, June 16 (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Affairs and European
Integration Ministry's State Secretary for political issues, Bianca Matkovic,
on Tuesday received the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh
Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for talks on bilateral relations and on
potentials for improving economic cooperation, the Croatian ministry said in a
statement. The two officials expressed satisfaction with the very
good bilateral relations.
They talked about possibilities for the improvement of economic
cooperation in oil and petrochemical industries, shipbuilding, energy and
tourism.
The two officials also talked about the activity of the
newly-established International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Abu Dhabi's
candidacy to host the agency.
Matkovic said that thanks to its geographic position, Croatia with its
seaport of Rijeka and modern motorways could serve as a gateway for the
shipment of UAE products towards central and western Europe.
