The House of Peoples of the Bosnian Parliament in mid-June adopted a law regulating the protection of domestic agricultural produce within the CEFTA agreement which stipulates the re-introduction of full tariffs on agricultural products from neighbouring Croatia and Serbia.
The new legislation, which went into force on Wednesday, envisages higher tariff rates on imported dairy and meat products, fruit, vegetables, drinks and alcohol and some other products which are imported free of tariffs from neighbouring countries.
Croatia sent a protest note to Sarajevo immediately after the law was adopted.
