Croatian Post nets €13.6m in 2023 profit

ZAGREB, 2 May (Hina) - In 2023, Croatian Post's (HP) EBITDA increased 9% to €25.3 million, while net profit amounted to €13.6 million, a marked increase due to a rise in the value of financial assets, HP said on Thursday.

Last year, operating income went up 5% to €250 million, indicating a "significant productivity increase," HP said, adding that the 2023 business results were a result of nearly €200 million invested in workers, infrastructure and technology over time.

In 2023, the number of letters continued to fall, by 4.5% on the year, while the number of parcels continued to increase, by 20%. Last year, HP delivered a record of over 15 million parcels.

At the end of last year, HP had over 8,800 employees, down 5% on 2022. A 25% pay rise was agreed for all workers.

After 120 years, the company's headquarters were relocated to Velika Gorica near Zagreb, a €50 million investment, where the most up-to-date logistics centre in this part of Europe, employing 1,700 people, was built.

In 2023, over 1.2 million kuna-to-euro conversion transactions were done in HP offices, with nearly HRK 1 billion exchanged for €132.8 million.
