The jury, presided over by Frédéric Druot, considered 362 projects for this year's award.
The three Croatian projects shortlisted for the award are the Black Slavonian Eco Pig Farm by architects Margita Grubiša, Marin Jelčić, Daniela Škarica, Ivana Žalac and Zvonimir Marčić of SKROZ Studio; the Land Registry Department of the Municipal Civil Court in Zagreb by architect Davor Bušnja of the More Arhitekture d.o.o. studio, and the Lonja Wetlands Wildlife Observatories and Visitor Centre by architects Mia Roth-Čerina and Tonči Čerina of the roth&čerina studio.
The shortlisted Croatian projects are winners of architectural awards and were nominated by the Croatian Architects Association.
The Mies van der Rohe Award is a prize given biennially by the European Union and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, Barcelona, "to acknowledge and reward quality architectural production in Europe".
The finalists will be announced in early February and the winners of the main prize and the prize for young authors in mid-April. The award-giving ceremony will be held in Barcelona on May 13-14.
