ZAGREB, 22 Dec (Hina) - Croatia's athletes have won a total of 161 medals from world and European championships in 2023 and 30 more medals at European and world cups, while the total tally of medals won by Croatian athletes in international contests this year is about 400, the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) stated on Friday.
The HOO has funded or co-funded the participation of Croatians in 966 various sports contests for cadet, junior, and senior athletes this year, and about 400 medals were bagged until 20 December by Croatians at those events.
This year, Croatian cadet, junior, and senior athletes have won 52 golds, 50 silvers and 59 bronze medals at various European and world championships.
So far, 19 Croatians have met requirements for their participation in the Olympic Games in Paris in the summer of 2024.
