Croatian gymnast Tin Srbić wins gold at European Championships

ZAGREB, 16 April (Hina) - Croatia's best gymnast Tin Srbić on Sunday won the gold medal in the men's horizontal bar at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antalya, Turkey.

Srbić won the gold with a result of 14.233. Italy's Carlo Macchini won the silver with 14.200 and Ukraine's Illia Kovtun the bronze with 13.966.

This was Srbić's third European Championships final and his first gold after snatching the silver in Szczecin, Poland in 2019 and in Mersin, Turkey in 2020.

He also won a gold at the World Championships in Montreal in 2017 and silvers at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the World Championships in Stuttgart in 2019.

Today's were the 34th European finals for Croatia's gymnasts since the country achieved independence in 1991 and the second gold after Marijo Možnik won it in the horizontal bar at the European Championships in Montpellier, France in 2015.

Croatia also has seven European Championships silver medals - two won by Srbić and Filip Ude each, and one by Možnik, Robert Seligman and Aurel Benović each - as well as one bronze won by Seligman.
