Mary's Meals is a charity that provides one daily meal at a place of education to attract chronically poor children to classrooms where they receive an education that will help them get out of poverty later in life, it was said at the opening ceremony.
The organisation operates in 18 countries: India, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, South Sudan, Thailand, Zambia, Ethiopia, Syria, Lebanon, Benin, Myanmar, Ecuador, Haiti, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Niger and Yemen.
The average cost of food per child for the entire school year is €22.
