The Charter was signed by the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, and the Mayor of Sorrento, Massimo Coppola.
Franković said that this was a logical step after 18 years of cultural cooperation. "This will further strengthen our friendship while at the same time increasing our cooperation in tourism, the quality of services provided, and the cultural exchange."
"This is a historic day because we continue what we have started and are creating new bonds. We are bound by our common history and UNESCO protection status. Cooperation has already been achieved with a music festival, but we will not stop at that. We will expand to gastronomy and various tourist events. We want to show to younger generations, through education, the importance of these relationships so that they can learn from one another," Coppola said, announcing the organisation of Days of Dubrovnik and Sorrento.
