The Micro-Folie museum is a digital collection of the masterworks on display in the biggest cultural institutions and museums in Europe.
Until 31 August visitors to this virtual art gallery will be able to see works such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Guernica by Pablo Picasso or the Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh as well as works by contemporary artists, says an announcement for the project, organised in cooperation with the French Institute in Croatia.
The digital museum presents on a large screen and interactive tablets a selection of works from the collections of national and international museums and cultural institutions, combining visual art, design, architecture and performing arts.
France's presidency of the EU adds a new dimension to the project by constituting a "European collection" of the largest museums in Europe. Micro-Folie will be exhibited in all EU member states. The European collection presents the cultural and art history of the continent with more than 200 works from 27 countries.
