Cultura i Conflicte is a multidisciplinary team that believes in the power of culture in promoting dialogue and exploring and initiating social change, and it uses different media - stage, screen, photography and journalism.
Wondering, 25 years after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, if the war had really ended for women victims of rape and the children they gave birth to as a result of rape, the team carried out thorough journalistic research and developed a stage interpretation of the victims' testimonies, reads the announcement of the event.
The event consists of a film, a play and a photo exhibition.
The performance "There is still someone in the woods" premiered in Catalonia in the autumn of 2020, the year marking the 25th anniversary of the Dayton peace agreement that put an end to the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Since then it has been staged more than 50 times across Catalonia and has received excellent reviews.
The victims' testimonies were shaped into a text by Anna Maria Ricart Codina and the play was directed by Joan Arqué Solà.
The play features actors Ariadna Gil, one of the best known European film and theatre actresses, Montse Esteve, Òscar Muñoz, Magda Puig, Judit Farrés, Pep Pascual and Erol Ileri.
The team's regional tour starts in Sarajevo on 6 November, after which it continues in Zagreb, where on 9 November the documentary will be screened, to be followed by a meeting with the authors and a theatre performance on 10 November, after which the event moves to Ljubljana, where it will be staged on 13 November.
The regional tour was organised with the support of the Delegation of the Government of Catalonia in Southeast Europe, with support from the Ramon Llull Institute.
