Maks Vincek, a secondary school student from Zagreb, claimed a silver medal among 180 competitors from 46 countries, while Ema Buljan from Sinj and Mislav Maldini took a bronze medal.
The HGD said that with this year's results members of the Croatian team at the Olympiad once again celebrated Croatian geography and the Republic of Croatia.
"Since 2011, when it started regularly participating in the International Geography Olympiad, the Croatian team has won a total of 27 medal -- seven gold, nine silver and 11 bronze medals," the association said.
Due to the current pandemic, this year's edition of the International Geography Olympiad took place online in the organisation of the Turkish Geographical Society from Istanbul.
