Four houses in hamlet near Pakrac get photovoltaic systems

ZAGREB, 13 April (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister Boris Milošević and Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund director Siniša Kukić on Tuesday put into operation photovoltaic systems for four households in Bjelajci, a hamlet near the eastern town of Pakrac.

One of the households was never connected to the power grid while the other three had been without power since the 1991-95 Homeland War.

"With photovoltaic cells, we will bring electricity to 100 houses over the next year," Kukić said, adding that HRK 400,000 had been spent on that for the four houses in Bjelajci and two in the Sisak area.

Milošević said the government would bring electricity to all villages without it by the end of its term. "The plan is to fully rebuild the low-voltage network by the end of next year and install photovoltaic networks in the remaining villages after that."
