COVID update: 78 new cases, three more deaths

ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - In the last 24 hours there have been 78 newly diagnosed infections with COVID-19 in Croatia, bringing the total number of active cases to 749, the national COVID-19 crisis management team reported on Thursday. 

Of the active cases, 130 are receiving hospital treatment, including six on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, three more persons diagnosed with the infection have died, bringing the total number of COVID-related deaths to 144.

Today is the the 157th day since Croatia confirmed its first case of coronavirus infection, and there have been 5,071 cases to date, of whom  4,178 have recovered. Currently, 2,863 persons are self-isolating.

The 14-day cumulative incidence rate of COVID-19 is 25.4 per 100,000 inhabitants, Health Minister Vili Beros told a government meeting earlier on Thursday.

In the healthcare system, there have been 44 employees diagnosed with the infection over the last seven days, he added.
