"The Zagreb summit is our great success, the success of our presidency, but also an important message to Western Balkan countries (...) when it comes to Croatia's as well as the support of all EU member states regarding the European prospects of those countries," Radman said after a video conference of EU foreign ministers that was chaired by Borrell.
The summit of EU member states and six Western Balkan countries - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo - was to have been held in Zagreb but due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, a video conference was held instead on May 6.
That video conference was chaired by European Council President Charles Michel. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament President David Sassoli, Borell, and representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the Regional Cooperation Council took part in it.
"We were commended by all member states, first and foremost by the high representative for the foreign and security affairs Borrell," added Grlic Radman.
The EU foreign ministers discussed the immediate neighbourhood, northern Africa and the Middle East as well as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in these areas, Grlic Radman explained.
They also discussed the peace process in the Middle East and everyone agrees with support for the solution of two states as "the only one that can secure peace and stability in the region".
The solution of two states refers to Palestine and Israel recognising each other and the international recognition of both states.
Grlic Radman said that the ministers had also discussed the Eastern Partnership comprising Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
He underlined that a summit with the Eastern Partnership should be held based on the model of the meeting with partners in the Western Balkans.
