The MPs supported unanimously, with 95 votes in favour, MIP's decision to terminate the term of office of MP Romana Jerkovic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who is to join the European Parliament. She had been elected as the last, twelfth Croatian MEP in the European elections and had to wait for the UK to leave the European Union.
Her substitute, Mirela Ahmetovic, Mayor of Omisalj on the northern Adriatic island of Krk, took oath of office. Ahmetovic is known to the general public as a critic of the project to build a floating LNG terminal on the island.
