Sljeme ready for Snow Queen races on 4 and 5 Jan

ZAGREB, Dec 29 (Hina) - The Audi FIS Ski World Cup Snow Queen Trophy 2020 races on Mount Sljeme overlooking Zagreb, scheduled for 4 and 5 January, have been given the green light from the International Ski Federation (FIS).

In mid-December, when temperatures were high for that time of the year, the adverse weather conditions made the preparation of the slope for the competition more complicated.

However, the organisers managed to make high-quality preparations for the races, and recently have been given the go-ahead for the event at the start of 2020.

The 2020 competitions will be traditionally launched by the ladies’ slalom race on Saturday, 4 January, with the first run of the race scheduled for 1 PM, and the second for 4.15 PM, the organisers say on the official website of the race.

The men’s slalom takes place on Sunday, 5 January, with the first run taking place at 2.15 PM and the second at 5.40 PM.

Tickets for the ladies’ race are 30 kuna for adults and 15 kuna for children between 7 and 15 years of age (including those born between 1 January 2005 and 31 December 2012). Tickets for the men’s races are priced at 50 kuna for adults and 25 kuna for children between 7 and 15. A ticket package for both the races is priced at 60 kuna for adults and 30 kuna for children between 7 and 15. Free entrance is provided for children of up to 7 years of age for both the races.

The tickets for the ladies’ and men’s slalom races include bus transport from Mihaljevac and from Stubicke Toplice to Sljeme, an entertainment programme with DJ’s as well as free food and refreshments. Such a package makes the Sljeme races one of a kind across the world.
