Sisak Technical School leads in absorbing EU funds

ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - After successfully implementing about twenty projects, Sisak Technical School leads in absorbing EU funds through the Erasmus+ programme for on the job training for its students, drawing about €1.5 million to date.

This year students and teachers will be involved in four new projects valued at €183,700.

The school's principal Davor Malovic told a press conference on Thursday that this would be the first time that teachers would also be involved in further training.

The project "New know-how and skills to facilitate access to the labour market" will enable 24 students to attend a three-week course in Bologna, Italy for computer technicians, electronics technicians and similar jobs. That will broaden their knowledge and skills. A second group of 14 students will travel to Sevilla, Spain for a two-week course.

The second project, called "Coding all together", will enable four students to travel to Lithuania and two teachers each will travel to Romania, Turkey, Lithuania, Greece and Spain.

Slovenia, France, Poland, Romania and France are Croatia's partner countries in the "LIFE - Living in an Inclusive and Fair Europe" project aimed at broadening awareness of the EU and its institutions, which 24 students will participate in.

The fourth project is being implemented together with Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Germany and Spain aimed at improving students' competencies in the fields of CNC, CAD and CAM technology.

Malovic explained that each year at least 50 students participate in different projects. They are selected via a competition based on set criteria and a letter of motivation.
