State officials offer their best wishes to Islamic believers for Ramadan Bayram

ZAGREB, June 3 (Hina) - Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandrokovic on Monday sent a note on the occasion of Ramadan Bayram to the head of the Islamic community in Croatia, Zagreb Mufti Aziz Hasanovic, and all Islamic believers.

Jandrokovic said in the note that Ramadan was the "most sacred and most merciful period" for Islamic believers, a month when they "show the strength of will, faith and sacrifice, and promote solidarity with people in need."

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic also extended congratulations to Mufti Hasanovic and all Islamic dignitaries and believers on Ramadan Bayram.

In her note, she said the days before this holiday were dedicated to spiritual renewal, humility, moderation, steadfastness and patience, which gave inspiration and strength for building unity, tolerance and dialogue.

It is those values that we wish to highlight as the foundation of our society to the benefit of all our citizens, she added.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, too, sent a message to Muslim believers.

"In the spirit of sincere dialogue and true partnership, we work together every day to ensure the prosperity of our homeland to the benefit of all our citizens, continuing to build an inclusive and tolerant society that respects the religious tradition and cultural heritage of all of its religious communities," Plenkovic said in his message.
