"Our importance is enormous. The tradition of collecting written material is of the utmost importance because it makes us what we are and reflects our national identity throughout history," said NSK head Tatijana Petric on NSK Day.
NSK Day commemorates the day when in 1483 the Roman Missal was printed, the first Croatian printed book and one of the most valuable works of Croatian culture kept at the NSK.
As of this year, February 22 is also marked as the national day of the Croatian Glagolitic script.
