ZAGREB, Jan 12 (Hina) - The attorneys for Croatian general Ante Gotovina, Luka Misetic and Marin Ivanovic, met government representatives on Thursday to discuss the continuation of cooperation between Gotovina's defence team and the Croatian Government.

"We talked about cooperation between the defence team and the Government. We will proceed with what has been agreed," attorney Ivanovic told Hina over the phone.

He said Gotovina's attorneys were very satisfied with cooperation with the Croatian Government.

Gotovina had been on the run since June 2001, when he was indicted by the Hague tribunal. An amended indictment from 2004 charges him according to personal and command responsibility with seven counts of crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war committed against Serb civilians and their property in the Knin area during and after the 1995 Operation Storm.

Gotovina was arrested in Spain in December 2005 after four and a half years on the run.

At his initial appearance before the UN war crimes tribunal at The Hague, Gotovina pleaded not guilty to each of the seven counts of the indictment.
